I’ve spent the last 7 years designing lean solutions for modern B2B & B2C enterprise SaaS.

UX/UI

Currently, I’m working as a Principal Designer focused on User Experience at Altruist. We’ve built the world’s first fully integrated digital brokerage for financial advisors in an attempt to democratize access to wealth generation tools. I’ve learned that applying minimalism to an enterprise-grade securities trading platform is far from easy.

It matters.

Everyone deserves access to quality tools that are delightful to use - whether it’s a wrench or a securities rebalancing flow. It all comes down to the alignment of intent - making choices that respect the time of end users, as well as the amazing people writing and supporting the code. I believe that speed and quality are elusive, but not mutually exclusive.

Designing in a fluid startup environment demands equal parts courage, grit and trust: trust amongst your teammates, trusting your intuition, and having trust in the vision of the team driving the ship. The need to ship quickly has also molded our own variants of UX methodologies.

Still learning.

I have ServiceTitan to thank for my design career. We learned so much. Arriving as a mid-level UI/UX designer (1 of 2 total) and exiting 4 years later as the Director of Product Design - I left an amazing team of 9 designers with a heavy heart. I wanted to trade meetings for time on the tools again. There are examples earlier work viewable here, as well as a proper case study available upon request.

Talking shop

Having been fortunate enough to work with design-forward companies, I’ve had a platform to engage with the Los Angeles Design community. It has enabled participation in a variety of events from blog interviews and virtual roundtable discussions, to being featured as a speaker at live design workshops.
